Class 1 trip to the Butterfly Park

We recently visited a local Butterfly Park experiencing handling Mini Beasts and other small animals which was a huge success. The children loved meeting a Tenrec as we had shared a story about them in Class.

KS2 Yorkshire Museum trip

Class 2 had a fabulous time at the Yorkshire Museum on the 10th November.  We were very knowledgeable during our Roman workshop, exploring Roman battle formations, coins, games and past times.  We enjoyed examining different artefacts of historical importance in the museum, including a mosaic floor, potter and a real skeleton!
We became forensic scientists in the afternoon, exploring a skeleton, artefacts  and using a microscope to make scientific observations.  We were very sensible in researching our conclusions.

Class 3  took part in some historical workshops which involved a variety of very enjoyable activities from weaving, dressing up, making brooches, acting, grinding corn, designing our own buildings and participating in an Olympic event.  Despite the weathers best attempts to try and flood the roads we thankfully didn’t need our canoes and we all returned safely!
