Dear Class 1 Parents of 2025/26,

Welcome to Class 1.

We are so excited to welcome your children into our classroom on Wednesday 3rd September 2025!

We can't wait to begin the new school year with you all! 

A few things to note:

• Please send your child to school with a named water bottle each day.
• Class 1 PE days will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
• Please label all of your child's clothing, especially PE kit and jumpers!
• Your child should bring a spare pair of underwear and bottoms in a separate bag if you feel they may require these, the bag can hang on your child's peg for if and when they need them.

Homework will include:

• Spellings - (these are linked to class learning). These will be issued on the school website each Friday. They will be tested on the following Friday. The first test will be Friday 12th Sept. 
• Reading - (when an adult at home has listened to your child read, please record this in their reading diary - we aim for at least 5 home reads with an adult per week)
• Maths - Numbots (children will be provided with logins) and 1 minute maths (please download the free app). Year 2 will begin to access Times Table Rockstars after half term.
• A half termly project - this will be provided next week.

It is going to be a wonderful term!
