Promoting Fundamental British Values

In accordance with The Department for Education we aim to actively promote British values in schools to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain. Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its law.

The Key Values are:

At Kneesall, we firmly believe that each child should be afforded the best possible start in life. We ensure each child is provided with the knowledge and cultural capital they need to succeed in life. We want to support children to embrace and embody the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. 

We build children's experiences and knowledge by immersing children in the world around them, enhancing the wonder and awe of learning in our local environment, through exceptional trips and experiences, and by offering children many opportunities to have a voice and to be heard. 

Experiences provided for children can have a major impact on their future well-being and success and to prepare them for adult life. We promote children to aim high, be focused and motivated with long term goals and to develop virtues including courage, honesty, generosity, integrity, humility and a sense of justice. We support children to acquire social confidence and to appreciate the importance of long term goals. Through this, we empower children to make informed choices and take control of their lives and to become reflective, effective and responsible citizens who make a positive contribution to society. 

Children at Kneesall are kind, compassionate and inclusive courageous advocates. They exude care and consideration of others and the world around them, and are important members of the local and wider community.
